so i got the notice for this contest and oddly enough i was struck by a bit of inspiration for an entry. we have to portray our dreams/aspirations for the future in this contest--did i mention the first OFFICIAL contest i will ever enter.

yeah so i decided to poke my nose around the last contest entries to see what kind of pieces won and what didnt. the winners were amazing. well there were a lot of amazing entries that DIDN'T win as well. so suddenly i'm doubting my idea AND skill (which let's face it is still developing and in need of improvment) yikes.

AND apparently i've been mispronouncing WACOM for years! its not 'WAY-com' its 'WAH-come'.....yeah.

anyway, my entry has to do with my dream to publish my books someday and i'm wondering if maybe my concept is too simple or even not as original as i first thought it to be...i'll have to hunt around and see if i find anything thats too similar.

well its not really NEWS, just...what's new. school. i'm falling behind in astronomy the shittiest class EVER. haven't worked on anything in a while but i have a few pending.

Mara has found herself a friend. Her nose led her to a guy named Aldon and she can't seem to leave him alone. i suspect she likes the way he smells or something (her k-9 atributes getting the best of her) because he's not the friendliest of people. He's sarcastic and mellow, nothing like goofy, fun-loving Mara. But who knows maybe having her around will do him some good, cause now it sure seems like he's got a stick shoved way up his ass!

alright so i feel like i'm getting the hang of css coding, yay. not very different from html which i picked up just fine so i think everything will be A-ok.

with the debut of my first coded journal is also the appearence of my new avatar, OC whatever you like to call her. As an OC she's not new, but her look is and so my alter ego from the past has now come back into my already crowded arsenal of characters and ideas to doodle. woo hoo. my friend and i were just trying to figure out whose character she really is. i created her first version (man i hope i can find an old picture of her cause it would be hilarious!) where she is more human. she kind of faded away as i was a little late jumping on the bandwagon of my friend's group OC storyline thing. then a couple or a few years later my friend brought all these characters back, refreshing the story and everything. and in doing so she took my character and gave her ears and a tail and a very interesting background story. she came to me and let me design her new look, keeping her essential personality as far as i know, placing her in a new better storyline.

now my friend and i used to love playing pretend and so we get together and talk about our stories and our characters and we're like kids playing make-believe again, haha. she's made many stories featuring ourselves as characters. so after a purple mermaid, and an orphaned fire-handler came Manae (Ma-nay-ah). she's my favorite of all my alter egos featured in my friends stories. since she's my new deviant face in a way i combined her first name with my deviant name and this new OC is Mara. yay
